My unconscious perceptions of psychotherapy

I had a dinner and good discussion with two friends the other night. In it we discussed a variety of things including possible new therapeutic options in the future which have great potential indeed and are exciting. That night I had a very vivid dream about me doing psychotherapy which I could easily recall the next morning.

There were three clients I was making appointments with for the next week and they were all very heavily pregnant women. That was all the dream was.

My unconscious had selected a most interesting metaphor for a client – a heavily pregnant woman.

That has so many qualities that could lead to discovering how my unconscious perceives clients, psychotherapy, the goals of therapy, what psychotherapy is, what it means to me and so forth.

I will probably write more to this post but I have to go to work now.
